Position Overview: The role of a Construction Project Engineer is essential in enhancing the current Investments Projects and Facilities Management Team. This position supports a hybrid working model, requiring a minimum of three days on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the coordination of design, procurement, and construction planning for a diverse array of facilities across both UK and international sites.
  • Manage projects that encompass significant infrastructure enhancements, utility installations, building refurbishments, new constructions, and airfield facilities.
  • Support bid activities and transition into design upon contract award.
  • Collaborate with professional services or consultancy organizations for design and procurement, while ensuring client-side oversight and project mobilization.
  • Travel within the UK and internationally for client engagement and site assessments related to design works.
  • Interpret client requirements to develop design specifications, implementation strategies, and financial proposals.
  • Coordinate and lead project teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Address and resolve any design, construction, and safety, health, and environmental (SHE) issues throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage the prequalification, selection, and tendering processes for construction activities.
  • Monitor project implementation against established design, timelines, and quality standards to meet objectives and milestones.
  • Ensure compliance with company and departmental quality protocols across all projects.
  • Oversee health and safety considerations throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to current processes and statutory regulations.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Construction, Building Services, Facilities Management, or a related field is required; other relevant disciplines may also be considered.
  • Strong understanding of the RIBA plan of work and the ability to implement effective processes for timely, cost-effective, and quality-driven design delivery.
  • Extensive experience in construction project installations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing contractors on major construction projects in compliance with the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015.
  • Excellent supplier management and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel for short durations to support project objectives.
  • Potential for international travel and secondment opportunities during design or construction phases.
  • Project Management certification is preferred.
  • International construction experience is advantageous.
