We're currently seeking a highly skilled Construction Coordinator (Trainee) to support our construction team in the execution of construction stages of our projects. This role offers a unique chance to gain on-the-job experience and achieve accredited training while working on a variety of projects, including refurbishment, new build, and modification projects.
Main Responsibilities:- Develop and Implement Construction Strategies: Produce construction phase plans and strategies to ensure successful project execution.
- Estimate and Schedule Site Works: Accurately estimate and schedule site works to meet project deadlines and budget requirements.
- Inspect and Accept Completed Works: Inspect and accept contractors' completed works to ensure they meet engineering and construction design specifications and standards.
- Produce Final Handover Documentation: Prepare and submit final handover documentation to ensure a smooth transition of projects.
- Ensure Compliance with Standards: Verify that all specified construction and installation standards are met, including surveillance and inspection.
- Promote a Positive Health and Safety Culture: Ensure site safety and safe working practices are adhered to and promote a positive health and safety culture in construction.
- Monitor Contractors' Compliance: Monitor contractors' compliance with controlling documents and ensure that resources used for construction are Suitably Qualified Experienced Person (SQEP) and managed cost-effectively.
- Ensure Compliance with National Nuclear Laboratory and UK Legal Requirements: Verify that all construction activities comply with National Nuclear Laboratory and UK legal requirements, including Nuclear Site License Conditions.
- Provide Constructability Input to the Design Process: Offer constructability input to the design process to ensure that projects are feasible and cost-effective.
- Develop and Improve Relationships: Develop and improve relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers to ensure successful project execution.
- Improve Construction Safety Performance: Identify opportunities to improve construction safety performance and meet company targets.
- Minimum Qualification: NVQ 3 or equivalent in an engineering, electrical, or construction discipline, or a trade background with a recognized apprenticeship.
- Experience: Must have experience of working on a nuclear site.
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain DV level security clearance, including identity, employment, financial, criminal record checks, interview, and 10 years of UK residency.
- Electrical Installations Experience: Experience in electrical installations.
- Supervisory Experience: Previous supervisory experience.
- NEBOSH Certification: NEBOSH general or construction certificate.
