About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Project Manager to join our team at ENWL. As a key member of our Business Connections Projects team, you will be responsible for managing the successful delivery of a portfolio of schemes, including customer-driven high voltage connection and diversion works.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Establish customer requirements and manage the delivery of programmes of works from acceptance to project closure.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure ENWL standards of health and safety are maintained in line with company and HSE regulations.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Promote the importance of customer satisfaction and improved interaction with customers on site.
  • Project Coordination: Facilitate the formal handover of planned projects from design to delivery teams and reach agreement on programme and financial constraints with delivery teams and customers.
  • Progress Reporting: Review progress in line with the work bank and report on the progress of the programme, identifying efficiency savings for the business.
  • Risk Management: Manage operational contractor-related risks and manage the delivery partners' works ensuring they are completed in line with ENWL's policies and procedures.
  • Contractor Management: Certify contractor payments on completion of works, including approval of variations, ensuring projects are managed effectively.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Hold regular progress meetings with stakeholders to provide feedback, address areas of concern, forecast spend, and plan future works.
  • Collaboration: Support delivery partners in liaison with local authorities, other public bodies, and other statutory utilities as necessary.
  • System Updates: Ensure ENWL systems are updated accurately and timely.
  • Technical Support: Provide support to Design Engineers on construction aspects of work and facilitate coordination between design and construction teams.
  • Site Meetings: Attend on-site meetings with contractors and customers as appropriate.
  • Technical Queries: Answer technical queries raised by the contractor and provide solutions.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Hold a minimum of an ONC / City and Guilds level qualification in Electrical Engineering or relevant experience within the electricity distribution industry.
  • Experience: Have experience of health and safety compliance, excellent customer relationship and engagement skills, proven programming and planning skills, and proven report writing skills and literacy with Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Skills: Be an excellent communicator, have proven influencing skills, experience working within a team, experience and understanding of LV/HV distribution networks, and hold ENWL LV Operational Authorisation (desirable).
