Swaffham Prior, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom John Lewis Partnership Full time

Our Purpose

Working in Partnership for a happier world – our shared Purpose that guides us in everything we do and inspires 3 important principles; happier people, happier business, happier world. The John Lewis Partnership is a truly unique business, one that seeks to make a positive difference to the lives of everyone.

Duties & Responsibilities:

As Partners - members of the Partnership - it's our responsibility to ensure our success for the future. We proactively seek out opportunities to continuously improve the way we work, taking action to ensure the Partnership is efficient and we are all as productive as possible. It's an ethos each and every Partner works by and you'll carry into your own role too.

The role of a Supermarket Assistant involves a range of tasks, including advising and serving customers, moving and replenishing stock, carrying out housekeeping activities and handling cash and card transactions according to set procedures.

Partners may be expected to work in any area of the branch to support the wider team as required, and to maintain the necessary business dress and hygiene standards.

Waitrose & Partners is all about enriched experiences and that goes for our people – our Partners – as much as our customers. We want you to enjoy your work and share your passion for food with our customers. So we will train you, treat you respectfully and then reward you by giving you a share in the profits, for pulling it all together and being part of our success.

We are looking for someone who keeps up to date on food and drink trends, knows our products, takes pride in whatever they do, carrying out everything to the highest standards, making sure the shop floor is shipshape, ready for when our customers arrive. Whether they are shopping for a healthy lunch, a top up on fresh fruit and veg, the weekly shop or a special occasion, we want every customer to enjoy their shopping experience, confident in our products and confident in our Partners.

Desired Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

Experience in a customer facing selling or service environment.

Additional Information:

As a Partner you will enjoy our unique benefits package, including staff discount, subsidised food in Partner dining rooms, discounts in local restaurants, susidised learning, access to exclusive Partnership hotels and so much more.

Please note we reserve the right to close the vacancy early in light of a large response.

At the John Lewis Partnership, we embrace our differences. We want you to be you. Because, well, we know you're at your best when you're free to be yourself. Being a truly inclusive employer to us means creating an environment which celebrates your contribution, regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, social background, religion or belief. It's why we've set our own aim to become the UK's most inclusive business - for our Partners (employees) and our customers. We firmly believe that our future success lies in diversity of thought from all Partners and it's integral in our mission to build a happier world. We welcome applications from everyone interested in working for us. And, once you're a Partner, your differences will make all the difference. Find out more about D&I in the Partnership here -
