Job Overview

Austin Fraser seeks a dedicated Pastoral Lead to join our team, responsible for promoting the well-being and academic success of pupils. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with teaching staff to assess and provide targeted support to pupils, fostering achievement and overcoming barriers to learning.
  • Conduct home visits to maintain open communication with parents/carers, securing positive family support.
  • Serve as a point of contact for parents/carers regarding pastoral care and behaviour matters, ensuring prompt attention and resolution.
  • Develop partnerships with external agencies/organisations to establish resources/initiatives addressing barriers to learning, enhancing pupil outcomes.
  • Undertake activities responding to unmet family needs, including early help assessments and CAFs, providing holistic support.
  • Maintain accurate records using CPOMS, presenting and accounting for work with children, young people, and families as required.
  • Work within school policies and procedures, implementing practices reflecting the school's commitment to positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
  • Deliver behavioural interventions to groups or individuals, meeting their unique needs.
  • Support vulnerable pupils' pastoral transition, particularly from Nursery to Reception and Year 6 to Year 7, ensuring a smooth transition.
Requirements
  • A sound working knowledge of safeguarding principles, essential for maintaining a safe environment.
  • An understanding of how external agencies operate, facilitating effective collaboration.
  • The ability to respect confidentiality, upholding professional boundaries.
  • Good organisation and time management skills, enabling efficient task prioritisation.
Estimated Salary

£27,500 - £37,000 per annum
