Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Neighbourhood Service Officer. As a key member of the Neighbourhoods service team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support and assisting with various tasks, including inspections and complaints handling.
About the Team
The Neighbourhood team is a friendly and supportive team at Thanet District Council. We work closely together to deliver excellent services to the public.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Neighbourhoods service team.
- Assist with inspections of vehicles and premises.
- Support senior officers with report preparation and correspondence.
- Analyse data and statistics for government returns and management reports.
- Upload Food Hygiene Scores to the Food Standards Agency.
- Install, maintain, and monitor technical equipment associated with enforcement and community services.
- Carry out land registry requests using the HM Land Registry website.
- Send invoices requesting payment for services provided.
- Review and revise council emergency plans, policies, and equipment.
- Arrange staff training programs and duty rotas for the neighbourhood service.
- Keep the Thanet District Council website up-to-date with guidance and information.
- Undertake research and surveys related to the works in the department.
Requirements
- Excellent IT skills.
- Note taking and/or shorthand skills.
- Customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills - delivering messages clearly so that they cannot be misunderstood.
- Multitasking and working under pressure.
- BASIC knowledge of the local area is essential.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this role is estimated to be around £29,000-£30,000 per annum based on a 37-hour week, rising to £34,500-£35,000 after 12 weeks.
