About the Role

Laindon Medical Group is seeking a skilled healthcare practice administrator to oversee our operations on a full-time basis, working hours per week across five days.

The primary duties of this position include:

  • Overall management of the daily operations of the practice.
  • Leading primary care services to ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations while maintaining financial health.
  • Providing effective leadership grounded in comprehensive knowledge of business management, finance, strategic planning, and human resources, including recruitment.
  • Fostering innovation and modernization within the practice.
  • Meeting the reporting obligations of the partnership and adhering to local and national KPIs and contracts.
  • Coordinating and directing the operational delivery of services, engaging with staff, patients, and local stakeholders.
  • Analyzing and presenting data to monitor quality metrics.
  • Representing the practice at local meetings and reporting back to partners.
  • Effectively managing all personnel.
  • Developing strong partnerships with other organizations to enhance practice services.
  • Ensuring the security, maintenance, and insurance of the premises and equipment.
  • Guaranteeing compliance with all Health & Safety at Work regulations.
  • Managing financial aspects, including income, expenditures, and accounts, while preparing financial reports for partners.
  • Implementing and maintaining operational systems as directed by the partners.
  • Overseeing patient inquiries and suggestions, including managing the practice's complaints procedure.
  • Updating the practice's informational materials and online presence.
  • Managing practice publicity and health education initiatives.
  • Overseeing the management of the practice's computer systems, including maintenance and upgrades.
  • Ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Preparing business plans and annual reports as directed by the partners.

  • A relevant qualification in business management or equivalent experience.
  • Thorough and current knowledge of employment legislation, along with experience managing a diverse workforce.
  • Strong background in HR, facilities management, IT, and complaint resolution.
  • Previous experience in leadership and personnel management, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience in financial oversight and management.
  • Ability to articulate a vision and adapt to NHS targets and business planning while staying informed of legislative and contractual changes.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Capability to develop, implement, and institutionalize policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Experience in dynamic environments, with a capacity to manage regular changes.
  • Excellent organizational, management, planning, IT, and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively implement and manage change.
  • Competence in identifying training and development needs for oneself and others, along with experience in staff appraisal.
