About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Fellow to join our dynamic Emergency Department team at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. As a Clinical Fellow, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and supportive environment, treating a wide range of emergency medicine presentations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care
  • Participate in regular training sessions, including lecture-room teaching, clinical supervision, and simulation sessions
  • Develop your skills and knowledge in emergency medicine, with a focus on passing the College of Emergency Medicine examinations
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and supportive team culture

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications:

  • Medical Degree
  • Full registration with GMC and a Licence to Practise

Essential Competencies:

  • ALS provider (Advanced Life Support)

Desirable Competencies:

  • Airway management skills
  • Competency in vascular access, including central venous catheter insertion

Essential Experience:

  • As a minimum, Foundation Year 2 training and/or Core Surgical Training on an HEE accredited training programme

Desirable Experience:

  • At least one year post foundation year experience in Medicine, Emergency Medicine or Anaesthesia
  • Experience in Intensive Care, Medicine or Anaesthesia
  • Evidence of participation in research and/or clinical audit projects

General Skills:

  • Good communication skills in verbal and written English
  • Basic IT skills and familiarity with software applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with colleagues as part of a multidisciplinary team

Personal Qualities:

  • Able to work under pressure
  • Aware of own limitations and when to ask for help
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and show effective time management
  • Enthusiastic learner with good time keeping and reliability

Administration:

  • Familiar with current structure of health service and knowledgeable about recent initiatives and changes
