Job Overview
We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a 12-month fixed-term position in Emergency Medicine. The selected candidates will become part of a dedicated team of senior clinical fellows in Emergency Medicine. This role is tailored for individuals with a minimum of 2 years of postgraduate experience in emergency medicine, seeking to enhance their skills in a supportive teaching hospital and major trauma center setting.
The successful candidate will integrate into a friendly and highly motivated consultant-led team, delivering exceptional emergency care to the local community. The department handles a comprehensive range of emergencies, in addition to major trauma cases, with an annual patient volume of approximately 180,000.
This position encompasses registrar (ST3+) level responsibilities within the emergency department, operating on a full shift rota. Clinical duties are reinforced by 24/7 consultant availability, senior training registrars, and a team of junior doctors and practitioners.
Key Responsibilities
The role includes 20% of non-clinical time dedicated to quality improvement and service enhancement initiatives within emergency care. All clinical fellow positions ensure equal opportunities in clinical supervision, development, and training alongside training posts.
Many of our former fellows have successfully secured national training posts in emergency medicine within the region, as well as pursued fellowships with local emergency response units and helicopter emergency medical services.
Candidates must possess full registration with the GMC and a license to practice, along with relevant NHS experience.
