About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our Emergency Medicine team at Whittington Hospital NHS Trust. As an ACP, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our emergency services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert clinical care to patients presenting to the adult Emergency Department, demonstrating competency in all areas of the department.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to identify and manage patients with a wide range of pathologies, from life-threatening to self-limiting conditions.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in resuscitation and practical procedures, ensuring safe and effective immediate care for critically ill and injured patients.
  • Establish and maintain accurate diagnoses and differential diagnoses, initiating or planning definitive care as required.
  • Work effectively with in-patient and supporting specialties, primary care, and prehospital services to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Identify patients who require admission and those who can be safely discharged, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Contribute to the development of our emergency services through relevant additional activities across the four pillars of advanced practice: clinical practice, research, leadership and management, and education.
  • Act in accordance with relevant professional regulators' codes of conduct.

  • Excellent clinical record and wide-ranging clinical experience.
  • Ability to work in a highly demanding environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competent in the use of IT packages and electronic patient care records.
  • Able to articulate personal development needs.
  • Ability and knowledge to undertake audit.
  • Experience of providing supervision and feedback.
