Position Overview:

As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in assisting students in mastering mathematical concepts. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Individualized Student Support: Offering personalized assistance to students, helping them grasp challenging mathematical ideas and enhance their skills.
  • Classroom Support: Aiding the classroom teacher in lesson delivery, managing student behavior, and fostering a conducive learning atmosphere.
  • Preparation of Educational Resources: Creating and organizing teaching materials to support lesson objectives and enrich the educational experience.
  • Monitoring Student Progress: Maintaining comprehensive records of student achievements, pinpointing areas needing extra help, and providing constructive feedback to educators.
  • Implementation of Intervention Strategies: Conducting focused intervention sessions for students facing difficulties with specific areas of the maths curriculum.
  • Engagement in Extra-Curricular Initiatives: Assisting with extra-curricular activities and enrichment programs that promote mathematics.
  • Collaborative Efforts: Partnering with teachers, the maths department, and other support personnel to ensure effective curriculum delivery and student support.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Mathematics or a related discipline.
  • A strong commitment to education and a desire to help students excel in mathematics.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • The capability to convey complex mathematical concepts in an understandable way.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to working within an educational setting.
  • Experience with youth, whether in an educational context or through tutoring, is beneficial but not mandatory.
