Position Summary:

As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in aiding both educators and learners, applying your mathematical knowledge to improve student comprehension and success. Your duties will encompass:

  • Classroom Assistance: Supporting teachers in delivering dynamic and effective maths instruction, managing student behavior, and fostering a conducive learning atmosphere.
  • Individualized Support: Offering personalized and small group assistance to students requiring extra help in grasping mathematical principles and problem-solving techniques.
  • Material Preparation: Assisting in the creation of educational resources, including worksheets, presentations, and other materials to facilitate lesson delivery.
  • Monitoring Progress: Maintaining comprehensive records of student performance, identifying areas needing further support, and communicating findings to educators and administrative staff.
  • Exam Readiness: Aiding students in their exam preparations through revision sessions, practice assessments, and effective study strategies.
  • Mentorship: Providing both academic and emotional support to students, creating a nurturing and motivating environment to promote student achievement.
  • Administrative Support: Assisting teachers with various administrative responsibilities, such as grading, data management, and maintaining classroom displays.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Mathematics or a related discipline.
  • Strong grasp of mathematical concepts and their educational applications.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine enthusiasm for enhancing student learning.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively with educators, students, and guardians.
  • Prior experience in teaching or tutoring is beneficial but not mandatory.
