Mathematics Academic Support Assistant Role Available

Teaching Personnel is in search of a committed Mathematics Academic Support Assistant to become part of a secondary educational institution recognized as 'Good' by Ofsted. This is a full-time opportunity that offers a competitive weekly remuneration of £500.

Position Overview:

As a Mathematics Academic Support Assistant, you will be instrumental in aiding the mathematics department and enriching the learning experience of students. Your duties will encompass:

  • Personalized Assistance: Offering individualized support to students requiring additional help in grasping mathematical principles, ensuring they remain aligned with the curriculum.
  • Group Tutoring: Conducting small group tutoring sessions to reinforce classroom content, prepare students for assessments, and enhance their analytical skills.
  • Classroom Support: Collaborating with mathematics educators to assist students during lessons, helping to maintain a conducive learning atmosphere.
  • Material Preparation: Aiding teachers in the creation of educational resources, including worksheets, presentations, and engaging activities.
  • Monitoring Progress: Keeping thorough records of student development, identifying areas needing further assistance, and communicating findings to educators and senior staff.
  • Assessment Readiness: Assisting in organizing and facilitating revision sessions, practice assessments, and study groups to ensure students are adequately prepared for evaluations.
  • Encouraging Engagement: Promoting a positive outlook towards mathematics, cultivating a supportive and motivating educational environment, and addressing any learning obstacles.
  • Communication with Parents: Supporting communication with parents regarding their child's progress and any additional assistance they may require.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Mathematics or a related discipline.
  • Solid comprehension of mathematical concepts with the ability to convey them effectively.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine commitment to aiding students in achieving success in mathematics.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively with educators, students, and parents.
  • Prior experience in a teaching or tutoring capacity is beneficial but not mandatory.
