Mathematics Academic Support Assistant Opportunity

Teaching Personnel is in search of a committed Mathematics Academic Support Assistant to join a secondary educational institution rated 'Good' by Ofsted. This full-time role offers a competitive weekly remuneration of £500.

Position Summary:

As a Mathematics Academic Support Assistant, you will be instrumental in aiding the mathematics department and enriching the learning journey of students. Your key responsibilities will encompass:

  • Personalized Assistance: Offering individualized support to students requiring additional help in grasping mathematical principles, ensuring they remain aligned with the curriculum.
  • Group Tutoring: Facilitating small group tutoring sessions to reinforce classroom teachings, prepare students for assessments, and enhance their analytical skills.
  • Classroom Support: Collaborating with mathematics educators to assist students during lessons, contributing to a conducive learning atmosphere.
  • Material Preparation: Aiding teachers in the development of lesson resources, including worksheets, presentations, and engaging activities.
  • Monitoring Progress: Maintaining comprehensive records of student advancement, identifying areas needing further assistance, and communicating findings to educators and senior staff.
  • Assessment Readiness: Assisting in organizing and executing revision sessions, practice assessments, and study groups to ensure students are thoroughly prepared for evaluations.
  • Fostering Engagement: Promoting a positive attitude towards mathematics, creating a supportive and motivating educational environment, and addressing any learning obstacles.
  • Communication with Parents: Supporting communication with parents regarding their child's progress and any additional assistance they may require.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Mathematics or a related discipline.
  • Strong comprehension of mathematical concepts with the ability to convey them effectively.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a sincere passion for facilitating student success in mathematics.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively with educators, students, and parents.
  • Prior experience in an educational or tutoring capacity is beneficial but not mandatory.
