Job Opportunity: Academic Support Specialist

Position Overview:

As an Academic Support Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to assist educators and students with various academic and administrative tasks. This position is ideal for graduates who are keen to make a difference in the educational landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

Classroom Assistance:

  • Support educators in delivering engaging lessons by providing targeted assistance to individual learners and small groups.
  • Prepare instructional materials and resources, ensuring they are ready for classroom use.
  • Oversee and manage classroom behavior to foster a constructive learning atmosphere.

Student Engagement:

  • Collaborate with students requiring additional support, including those with special educational needs, to facilitate their access to the curriculum.
  • Encourage and guide students in their academic pursuits, helping them to achieve their educational goals.
  • Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor students' progress towards their objectives.

Administrative Support:

  • Contribute to the evaluation and assessment of students' work, providing constructive feedback as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating school events, excursions, and activities.

Extracurricular Participation:

  • Engage in extracurricular initiatives, including clubs and sports, to offer additional support and enrichment opportunities for students.
  • Help supervise students during breaks, lunch periods, and after-school activities.

Collaboration and Development:

  • Work collaboratively with educators, support staff, and school leadership to ensure a unified approach to student assistance.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture, upholding the institution's values and ethos.
