Exciting Opportunity for a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel is on the lookout for a dedicated Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school recognized for its quality education. This full-time role is set to commence immediately and will last until the conclusion of the academic year, with the possibility of transitioning into a permanent position based on performance.

Position Summary:

As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in aiding the maths department and guiding students to reach their maximum potential in this essential subject. Your duties will encompass:

  • Student Assistance: Offering individualized and small group support to students, aiding them in grasping intricate mathematical concepts and enhancing their skills.
  • Classroom Support: Collaborating with the classroom teacher to deliver lessons, manage classroom dynamics, and foster a constructive learning atmosphere.
  • Material Preparation: Developing teaching materials and resources to bolster lesson plans and enrich the educational experience for students.
  • Monitoring Progress: Maintaining comprehensive records of student advancement, pinpointing areas needing additional support, and providing constructive feedback to educators.
  • Intervention Strategies: Implementing targeted intervention strategies to assist students struggling with specific components of the maths curriculum.
  • Enrichment Activities: Facilitating extra-curricular activities and enrichment programs associated with mathematics.
  • Team Collaboration: Working in close partnership with teachers, the maths department, and other support personnel to ensure effective curriculum delivery and student support.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Mathematics or a related discipline.
  • A strong enthusiasm for education and a commitment to helping students excel in mathematics.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • The capability to convey complex mathematical ideas in an understandable way.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to working within a school environment.
  • Experience with young individuals, whether in an educational setting or through tutoring, is beneficial but not mandatory.
