Onshore Inspection Assistant Project Engineer

In collaboration with Global E&C, Torus BGP was established to deliver a wide array of integrated services across CNRI's North Sea assets. Our unified operational philosophy allows us to provide extensive services, including Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Construction, Lifting, Inspection, Access, Deck Management, and Fabric Maintenance. This role is positioned within our Operations & Maintenance service line.

The Onshore Inspection Assistant Project Engineer will be tasked with diligently progressing assigned job responsibilities as directed by the Inspection Project Manager or Inspection Operations Manager throughout the Inspection contract. This role involves assisting in the coordination, planning, and daily execution of Inspection services personnel and equipment on the TORUS CNRI contract, ensuring that all activities are conducted safely and effectively.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide operational support to both Bilfinger and clients, including onshore and offshore personnel such as Project Engineers, Recruitment, Wages, Commercial, HSEQ, T&C, and HR.
  • Ensure all personnel mobilization requirements are fulfilled for requested trips, along with necessary plant and equipment.
  • Support the updating of operational rotas.
  • Manage subcontractor and third-party activities as required.
  • Participate in meetings to maintain essential communication with offshore teams and clients, including performance and HSE meetings.
  • Assist in preparing presentation materials and delivering them as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Bilfinger ANDT Team for new work scopes, including equipment identification.
  • Support the Inspection Project Manager, Project Planner, and Engineer as necessary.
  • Provide coverage for the Project Planner and Project Engineer.
  • Assist in collating and delivering planning data, including updates to planning software.
  • Compile equipment orders for new scopes.
  • Oversee plant, material, and equipment ordering and monitoring, including maintaining material trackers and managing shipping logistics.
  • Review plant maintenance reports to ensure alignment with actual offshore data.
  • Communicate with stores and shipping departments to ensure timely equipment issuance.
  • Ensure completion of CTRs for new work scopes and timely submission to clients.
  • Verify that customer POs are established before work commences.
  • Review and approve weekly working hours, ensuring accuracy in coding and processing per contract.
  • Approve third-party agency invoices for completed work, investigating discrepancies as needed.
  • Communicate progress, operational challenges, and commercial implications to clients.
  • Ensure accuracy of invoicing data for labor and plant prior to client submission, assisting with queries as required.
  • Monitor PO costs to prevent overruns, submitting amended CTRs as necessary.
  • Assist in preparing financial forecasts.
  • Ensure timely receipt of equipment checks, inspection reports, HSE reports, and all relevant documentation from offshore.
  • Address PAYE wage inquiries.
  • Approve employee expense claims.
  • Manage and approve offshore holiday requests.
Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in an offshore oil and gas environment.

• At least 2 years of experience related to in-service inspection is desirable.

• A working knowledge of British, European, and International Standards concerning Safety, Environment, and Quality is preferred.

• Proficient understanding of SAP or similar systems.

• Completion of industry-specific training and safety-critical requirements as per recruitment procedures.

• Minimum of 2 Highers / Advanced Highers / A levels or equivalent qualifications.

• OPITO and MIST Offshore Safety Training is desirable.

• The position holder should demonstrate potential for advancement to higher management levels.
