Onshore Inspection Support Engineer

As part of our operations, we have established a joint venture, Torus BGP, to deliver a comprehensive range of integrated services across specific assets. This role falls under our Operations and Maintenance service line.
The Onshore Inspection Support Engineer will play a crucial role in facilitating the coordination, planning, and daily execution of inspection services, ensuring that personnel and equipment are deployed effectively and safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational assistance to both Bilfinger and client personnel, including project engineers and various support teams.
- Ensure all personnel mobilization requirements are fulfilled for scheduled assignments, along with necessary equipment.
- Support the updating of operational rosters.
- Oversee activities of subcontractors and third parties as needed.
- Participate in meetings to maintain effective communication with offshore teams and clients.
- Assist in preparing presentation materials and delivering them as required.
- Collaborate with the Bilfinger ANDT Team for new work scopes and equipment identification.
- Support the Inspection Project Manager and Project Planner as necessary.
- Provide coverage for the Project Planner and Project Engineer when needed.
- Assist in compiling and delivering planning data, including updates to planning software.
- Coordinate equipment orders for new scopes of work.
- Monitor plant, material, and equipment orders, including maintaining trackers and overseeing shipping processes.
- Review plant maintenance reports to ensure alignment with actual offshore conditions.
- Communicate with stores and shipping departments to ensure timely equipment issuance.
- Ensure completion of CTRs for new work scopes and timely submission to clients.
- Verify that customer purchase orders are in place before work commencement.
- Review and approve weekly working hours, ensuring accuracy in coding and processing.
- Approve third-party agency invoices for completed work, addressing any discrepancies.
- Communicate project progress and operational challenges to clients.
- Ensure accuracy of invoicing data for labor and equipment prior to client submission.
- Track purchase order costs to prevent budget overruns and submit amended CTRs as necessary.
- Assist in preparing financial forecasts.
- Ensure timely receipt of equipment checks, inspection reports, and HSE documentation from offshore.
- Address PAYE wage inquiries and approve employee expenses.
- Manage and approve offshore holiday requests.
Qualifications & Experience
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the offshore oil and gas sector.
• At least 2 years of experience related to in-service inspection is preferred.
• Familiarity with British, European, and International Standards concerning safety, environment, and quality is desirable.
• Proficient in SAP or similar systems.
• Completion of industry-specific training and safety-critical requirements as per recruitment procedures.
• Minimum of 2 Highers, Advanced Highers, A levels, or equivalent qualifications.
• OPITO and MIST Offshore Safety Training is advantageous.
• The candidate should demonstrate potential for advancement to higher management levels.
