The Onshore Inspection Project Engineer will play a crucial role in the coordination, planning, and daily execution of inspection services for personnel and equipment. This position requires diligent task management as directed by the Inspection Project Manager or Inspection Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational support to both Bilfinger and client personnel, including project engineers, recruitment, wages, commercial, HSEQ, T&C, and HR.
- Ensure all personnel mobilization requirements are fulfilled for requested trips, along with necessary plant and equipment.
- Assist in updating operational rotas.
- Manage activities of subcontractors and third parties as needed.
- Participate in meetings to maintain effective communication with offshore teams and clients, including performance and HSE meetings.
- Support the preparation and delivery of presentation materials.
- Collaborate with the Bilfinger ANDT Team for new work scopes, including equipment identification.
- Assist the Inspection Project Manager, Project Planner, and Engineer as required.
- Provide coverage for the Project Planner and Project Engineer when necessary.
- Help compile and deliver planning data, including updates to planning software.
- Coordinate equipment orders for new scopes.
- Monitor plant, material, and equipment orders, maintaining material trackers and overseeing shipping logistics.
- Review plant maintenance reports to ensure alignment with actual offshore information.
- Communicate with stores and shipping departments to ensure timely equipment issuance.
- Ensure completion of CTRs for new work scopes and timely submission to clients.
- Verify customer POs are in place prior to the commencement of work.
- Review and approve weekly working hours, ensuring accuracy in coding and processing in line with contracts.
- Approve third-party agency invoices for completed work, investigating discrepancies as needed.
- Communicate progress, operational challenges, and commercial implications to clients.
- Ensure accuracy of invoicing data for labor and plant prior to client submission, assisting with queries as necessary.
- Track PO costs to prevent overruns, submitting amended CTRs as required.
- Assist in preparing financial forecasts.
- Ensure timely receipt of equipment checks, inspection reports, HSE reports, and all relevant documentation from offshore.
- Address PAYE wage queries and approve employee expenses.
- Manage and approve offshore holiday requests.
Qualifications & Experience
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the offshore oil and gas sector.
• At least 2 years of experience related to in-service inspection is preferred.
• Familiarity with British, European, and International Standards concerning safety, environment, and quality is desirable.
• Proficient understanding of SAP or similar systems.
• Completion of industry-specific training and safety-critical requirements as per recruitment procedures.
• Minimum of 2 Highers / Advanced Highers / A levels or equivalent qualifications.
• OPITO and MIST Offshore Safety Training is advantageous.
• The candidate should demonstrate potential for advancement to higher management levels.
