Position Overview

An exceptional opportunity has emerged for a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to join the GI Services Division as a Coordinator for the Colorectal Cancer pathway.

This division encompasses various surgical and medical specialties that address conditions affecting the digestive system. The primary responsibility of this role is to facilitate and coordinate multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meetings while managing a streamlined patient journey for individuals diagnosed with Lower GI cancer, from initial referral through to diagnosis and treatment.

In this dynamic and fast-paced environment, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective management of cancer patients, striving to meet established waiting time targets.

Main Responsibilities

Reporting to the Service Manager, the Coordinator for the Colorectal Cancer pathway will be responsible for the following:

  • Delivering high-quality administrative and project support services to the Division, with a specific focus on facilitating and coordinating MDT meetings.
  • Leading the analysis of team performance metrics and generating regular reports on the status of all patients within the Cancer Target pathway.
  • Collaborating with Pathway Coordinators to manage an effective patient journey for cancer patients, ensuring adherence to Cancer Waiting Time Targets.
  • Driving service improvement initiatives and quality control measures to enhance the efficiency of patient pathways and improve reporting quality.
  • Promoting best practices and supporting clinical and administrative teams to foster a positive patient experience.
  • Serving as a resource for advice and support in resolving complex or sensitive issues.

Essential Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent experience, along with training in administrative procedures.
  • Proficiency in a range of computerized software and a solid understanding of medical terminology.
