About the Role:
At Single Homeless Project, we are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Housing Support Specialist to become a vital part of our team. This position offers a full-time, permanent opportunity, where you will engage with vulnerable individuals to provide essential housing-related assistance.

Your Responsibilities:
As a Housing Support Specialist, your primary role will be to deliver adaptable support services to clients facing various challenges. You will work closely with individuals who may be dealing with issues such as:
  • Substance misuse
  • Mental health concerns
  • Involvement with the criminal justice system

In this capacity, you will need to exhibit resilience, creativity, and flexibility, collaborating with other support staff to prepare clients for independent living.

Key Duties Include:
- Facilitating personalized move-on strategies tailored to each client's unique needs, leveraging your knowledge of housing pathways.
- Establishing strong partnerships with housing providers, including private landlords, to secure suitable accommodation options.
- Developing and implementing comprehensive Resettlement action plans through thorough risk and needs assessments.
- Utilizing your numeracy skills to assist clients with budgeting, benefit calculations, and rent monitoring.
- Collaborating effectively with external partners, particularly in community mental health and substance use services.

What We Are Looking For:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A solid understanding of the Recovery Model and the ability to inspire clients towards independence and inclusion.
- Knowledge of housing pathways to provide effective move-on solutions.
- Proven experience in creating SMART action plans in collaboration with clients.
- Familiarity with Housing Management principles relevant to residential settings.
