Overview of Your New Role:

Reporting directly to the CFO, this position offers a unique chance to oversee the finance function of a swiftly growing enterprise, providing support to both Finance and Operational Management teams on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the submission of monthly Management Accounts to the Sword Group's international headquarters.
  • Manage month-end journal entries, including WIP, prepayments, accruals, and holiday provisions.
  • Oversee Management Accounts and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Control the preparation of monthly Management analytical reports.
  • Ensure accuracy in Intercompany balance reconciliation and repayments.
  • Facilitate the submission of legal entity VAT returns.
  • Manage the submission of month-end statutory accounts into Head Office consolidation software.
  • Oversee half-year reviews and year-end statutory audits.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets with input from Business Unit Directors.
  • Ensure adherence to Group accounting policies and internal controls.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor a financial team of six.
  • Review and authorize monthly payments.

Qualifications:

  • Academic degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field with pertinent industry experience.
  • Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).

Personal Competencies:

  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong IT skills, with experience in Sage and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proven experience leading finance teams in a business-to-business services environment is advantageous.
