We are seeking a Publishing Editor to become part of a vibrant and high-achieving team at a pivotal time of expansion for Ebury, the leading non-fiction publisher in the UK.

Ebury Self , encompassing our Vermilion, Rider, and Happy Place imprints, represents one of the most consistently successful sectors of Penguin Random House, featuring renowned authors in the fields of wellbeing, personal growth, health, parenting, and spirituality. Our impressive lineup includes notable figures such as Wim Hof, Brené Brown, Kirsty Gallagher, Glennon Doyle, Ed Winters, Fearne Cotton, Deepak Chopra, and Gabor Maté.

The Role

The Self hub is in search of a motivated and proactive Publishing Editor to assist the senior commissioning team in crafting bestselling titles that educate, empower, and inspire new perspectives.

Reporting to the Editorial Director, you will oversee the management of acquired titles throughout the entire publishing journey until the final product is achieved. Your responsibilities will include drafting cover text, briefing design teams, coordinating production timelines, and negotiating with freelance professionals. This position is ideal for a self-motivated assistant editor with a positive outlook and a strong team-oriented mindset.

Candidate Requirements

You should possess:

Experience in managing UK-originated titles through the complete publishing cycle, ideally with structural and line editing expertise A keen eye for detail, complemented by excellent proofreading abilities The capacity to juggle multiple tasks, prioritize a diverse workload, and proactively oversee deadlines and budgets Strong communication skills, enabling you to build and maintain effective relationships while providing exceptional author support A genuine interest in audience preferences and trends within the health and wellbeing sectors, along with the ability to create engaging copy and clear design briefs that reflect this

Salary: Starting from £31,500, based on the alignment of your skills and experience with the role, plus bonus and benefits.

Hybrid Working: We are exploring a hybrid working model that accommodates the needs of each team.
