Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Editorial Assistant to provide essential support within our vibrant editorial team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our publishing process and offers a unique opportunity to enhance your editorial capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative assistance to editors, senior editors, and commissioning editors.
  • Organize and document departmental meetings, including preparing agendas and taking minutes.
  • Maintain and update the publishing schedule in accordance with team discussions and directives.
  • Ensure that title records are accurately reflected in our Biblio title management system.
  • Assist in the creation of promotional materials, including advance information sheets and catalogue content.
  • Support the editorial team with proofreading, photo research, and project editing as needed.
  • Collaborate with sales, production, design, and marketing teams to ensure timely delivery of sales materials.
  • Review submissions on behalf of commissioning editors and assist in their responses.
  • Manage the distribution of book proposals for evaluation, tracking feedback diligently.
  • Address general inquiries related to publications.
  • Represent the educational list at relevant conferences and events.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong organizational skills and effective communication abilities.
  • Proficient in the English language with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Prior office experience is advantageous.
  • A genuine interest in educational publishing is essential, with relevant experience being a plus.
