Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Editorial Assistant to support our editorial team in delivering high-quality publications. This role involves a blend of editorial assistance and administrative tasks, providing a unique opportunity to enhance your skills in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to editors, senior editors, and commissioning editors.
  • Organize and document key departmental meetings, including preparing agendas and minutes.
  • Maintain and update the publishing schedule in accordance with departmental decisions.
  • Ensure accuracy of title records within our Biblio title management system.
  • Assist in the creation of promotional materials, including advance information sheets and catalogue content.
  • Support proofreading, photo research, and editing tasks as needed by the editorial team.
  • Coordinate with sales, production, design, and marketing teams to ensure timely delivery of sales materials.
  • Review submissions on behalf of commissioning editors and assist in correspondence.
  • Manage the distribution of book proposals for evaluation and track feedback.
  • Address general inquiries related to publications.
  • Represent the education list at relevant conferences and events as necessary.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong organizational abilities and effective communication skills.
  • Excellent command of the English language with a focus on accuracy and detail.
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Some prior office experience is preferred.
  • A genuine interest in educational publishing is essential, with relevant experience being advantageous.
