Role Overview

This position presents an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive individual to become an integral part of our dynamic editorial team. You will provide essential editorial and administrative assistance in the acquisition and production of new titles, supporting various facets of coordination and management of the publishing schedule across all formats.

The successful candidate will engage in all stages of the publication journey, from manuscript submission to the final print and digital editions.

Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of editorial and administrative tasks, including:
  • Briefing freelance contributors, reviewing their submissions, and compiling necessary corrections
  • Preparing preliminary materials and collaborating closely with the production team to ensure timely publication
  • Communicating with authors and literary agents
  • Updating internal systems and managing metadata
  • Assisting with copywriting and jacket design briefs
  • Serving as the primary liaison among editorial, design, and production teams for assigned projects
  • Overseeing the creation of complex special editions
  • Maintaining a log of submissions
  • Organizing meetings and documenting minutes
  • Managing purchase orders and financial transactions
  • Distributing advance copies
Additionally, you will contribute to the evaluation of fiction manuscripts and prepare reading assessments.

Candidate Profile

We seek a highly organized and confident collaborator with exceptional attention to detail and a positive approach. This role is diverse and creative, ideal for someone passionate about commercial science fiction and fantasy. Given the fast-paced and intricate nature of our list, strong communication skills, effective time management, and the ability to prioritize tasks under pressure are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, and familiarity with Biblio is advantageous.
