Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to editors, senior editors, and commissioning editors.
  • Coordinate and document departmental meetings, including agenda preparation and minute-taking.
  • Manage the publishing timeline, implementing changes as discussed in meetings and as requested by the commissioning team.
  • Ensure that title records are accurately maintained in our Biblio title management system.
  • Assist editors in creating promotional materials such as advance information sheets, catalogue descriptions, and materials for book fairs.
  • Support proofreading, photo research, and editing tasks as needed by the editorial and commissioning teams.
  • Collaborate with sales, production, design, and marketing teams to ensure timely delivery of sales materials.
  • Review submissions on behalf of commissioning editors and aid in their responses.
  • Distribute book proposals for evaluation, tracking feedback and follow-ups.
  • Address general inquiries related to books.
  • Represent the education list at relevant conferences and events as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Highly organized with strong communication abilities.
  • Excellent command of the English language, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficient organizational skills, with a self-driven approach to meeting deadlines and managing schedules.
  • Able to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
  • Previous office experience is preferred.
  • A demonstrated passion for educational publishing is essential, with relevant experience considered an advantage.
