Creative Marketing Specialist, Ebury

London, Greater London, United Kingdom The Random House Group Limited Full time

About the Role

Are you passionate about the realms of entertainment and personal growth? We are seeking two Marketing Specialists to join our Spotlight and Self Hubs, focusing on audience-centric concept development and executing effective book marketing initiatives that enhance sales.

Ebury's distinctive hub framework integrates editorial, publicity, and marketing, fostering idea generation and teamwork across all departments. We prioritize and appreciate our creative and collaborative culture. These positions will be within our Spotlight and Self Hubs, concentrating on entertainment and sports as well as self-help and personal development publishing, respectively.

The Team

Ebury stands as the UK's largest dedicated non-fiction publisher and has been recognized as Publisher of the Year at the British Book Awards. We proudly represent bestselling authors from diverse backgrounds, including culinary experts and wellness advocates. Our agile team is continually on the lookout for emerging talent, crafting bestsellers, and enhancing author brands.

Your Responsibilities

As a member of the Ebury Communications team, you will play a crucial role in connecting our publications with new audiences. This involves close collaboration with authors, agents, editors, publicity, sales, and international teams to create cohesive and engaging marketing strategies.

On a daily basis, you will interact with authors and our Sales, Editorial, and Design teams to develop standout marketing campaigns that generate excitement, social media engagement, pre-orders, and book sales. The primary objective of our Communications team is to align our books, brands, and authors with the appropriate audience, which will be reflected in your ideas, strategies, plans, and campaign content. This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your marketing expertise, where you will create promotional materials, implement digital-first campaigns, and engage with brand and media partners.

What You Will Bring

You will oversee your own campaigns while also supporting Campaign Managers and the Head of Campaigns. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a wealth of ideas. A self-starter who can manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively is essential. A solid understanding of social media and audience engagement strategies is crucial.

We seek an organized, adaptable team player with strong communication skills to present ideas and provide feedback on team projects. You will be responsible for creating targeted marketing campaigns and building relationships with influencers and brands.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in publishing, broadcasting, startups, marketing, or social media agencies. However, we welcome applicants from any sector with relevant skills—if you have a passion for popular culture or personal development, we would love to hear from you.

About Ebury Spotlight

Ebury Spotlight is home to leading figures in entertainment. We are committed to publishing beloved talents, significant influencers, captivating stories, hidden gems, and the latest trends that will engage and delight readers of all preferences.

About Ebury Self

Ebury Self focuses on providing readers with unparalleled expertise and transformative solutions across personal development, health, wellbeing, parenting, and spirituality. We publish works that inform, empower, and inspire new directions from an impressive roster of motivational authors.

About The Random House Group Limited

As the UK's largest publisher, we comprise around 2,000 professionals and publish over 1,500 titles annually. We embrace diverse talent and strive to redefine the publishing landscape. Here, you will collaborate with a wide range of talents who contribute to the success of our publications. Together, we create books for everyone, as a single book has the potential to change lives.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, recognizing that our people are the core of our business. Our benefits include:

  • Financial – discounts on shopping, season ticket loans, rental deposit loans
  • Wellbeing – healthcare cash plans, employee assistance programs, gym loans

While our offices are designed for collaboration and celebration, we recognize the importance of flexibility in your work environment. For this role, we anticipate you will be in our London office two days a week, with additional office attendance required at times, along with some evening and weekend commitments to align with authors' schedules.

  • A working understanding of marketing and social media
  • Demonstrable organizational and prioritization skills
