Role Overview

The Editor, Full Time position at Bloomsbury Publishing plc is a key role in the company's Academic division, responsible for managing individual book projects from commission to publication. The successful candidate will work closely with the commissioning team and senior editors to project manage titles across a broad range of educational products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management
    • Manage individual book projects from commission to publication, working with authors to ensure timely delivery of manuscripts and liaising with production staff to maintain publishing schedules and data in Biblio.
  • Editorial Support
    • Assist and support the commissioning team and senior editors as required, providing editorial guidance and expertise to ensure high-quality publications.
  • Content Development
    • Develop and implement content strategies to meet the needs of Bloomsbury's educational publishing program, working closely with authors, commissioning editors, and production staff.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including commissioning, production, and marketing, to ensure seamless project execution and high-quality outcomes.
  • Quality Assurance
    • Ensure high standards of accuracy, attention to detail, and quality control throughout the editorial process, from manuscript review to final publication.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Demonstrable experience in education publishing, with a strong understanding of the industry and its trends.
  • Skills and Qualifications

    • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
