Key Responsibilities

The Lead Transformation Strategist will play a vital role within the Integrated Care Board (ICB), collaborating closely with the West Essex Health and Care Partnership. This position focuses on improving outcomes for adults and older adults facing mental health challenges in the region. The successful candidate will oversee significant commissioning initiatives for Adult Mental Health services and support Vulnerable Adults, emphasizing Acute Mental Health services, including urgent care. Responsibilities will encompass:

  • Managing NHS contracts effectively.
  • Leading tender processes and public consultations.
  • Developing strategic plans and setting priorities.

We are looking for an experienced manager with a background in commissioning who exemplifies high standards and is dedicated to empowering clinicians, staff, and local communities. A collaborative approach with partners—including NHS entities, County Councils, Voluntary Community Faith and Social Enterprises (VCFSE), and the public—is essential to drive positive change and deliver innovative health and social care solutions.

Knowledge, Training, and Experience

Essential Qualifications

  • A master's degree or equivalent experience in a senior role within a specialized area.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development post-qualification.
  • Qualifications and experience in project management, such as Prince 2 or Managing Successful Projects, along with strong partnership working skills.
  • Experience in a political environment, with an understanding of current healthcare policy and its implications for engagement.
  • Proven expertise in service commissioning and development.
  • A solid understanding of mental health services, including autism and dementia.
