Key Responsibilities

The Lead Transformation Strategist will actively engage with the Integrated Care Board (ICB) and collaborate closely with the West Essex Health and Care Partnership. The primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of care for adults and older adults facing mental health challenges in the region. Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the execution of prominent commissioning initiatives for Adult Mental Health services and support for Vulnerable Adults.
  • Managing NHS contracts and leading procurement processes.
  • Conducting public consultations and developing strategic frameworks.
  • Setting priorities to address acute mental health service needs, including urgent care.

We are looking for an accomplished manager with a strong background in commissioning who exemplifies high standards and is eager to inspire and empower clinicians, staff, and local communities. Your ability to collaborate with diverse partners—including NHS entities, County Councils, Voluntary Community Faith and Social Enterprises (VCFSE), and the public—will be essential in delivering innovative and adaptable health and social care solutions.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • A master's degree or equivalent experience in a senior role within a specialized field.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development and post-qualification training.
  • Project management qualifications, such as Prince 2 or Managing Successful Projects, along with strong partnership collaboration skills.
  • Experience in a politically sensitive environment with a solid understanding of current healthcare policies and their implications for stakeholder engagement.
  • Proven expertise in service commissioning and development.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mental health services, including autism and dementia care.

Essential Skills

  • Proven ability to lead multi-agency project teams effectively.
  • Experience in performance management of teams and individuals.
  • Demonstrated success in planning and executing programs and projects within established timelines.
  • Competence in budget management, including budget setting and financial processes.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey key messages clearly and confidently to various stakeholders, fostering engagement and collaboration.
