Fundraising and Event Management Specialist
A competitive salary in the range of £26,000-£27,500 per annum will be offered based on experience.
Brighton College is looking to recruit a Fundraising and Event Management Specialist on a full-time, permanent basis.

This role is crucial within the vibrant and successful Development and Engagement team at Brighton College, recognized as the United Kingdom's School of the Decade.

You will be joining us during an exciting phase, as we build on the successful conclusion of a recent capital campaign and initiate a new regular giving appeal directed at our alumni.

The position requires active participation in all facets of fundraising and event management for Brighton College, with a specific emphasis on fundraising operations and donor relations.

This diverse role is ideal for an ambitious individual eager to commence their career in the education, charity, or events sectors, or for someone with transferable skills seeking to transition into the third sector.

Key Responsibilities:
Support the Senior Development Officer in executing planned fundraising initiatives and projects (e.g., capital, annual, awards, corporate sponsorship).
Manage the prospect pipeline within the development database (Raiser's Edge).
Prepare guest biographies ahead of significant school events and assist with the department's annual fundraising research program.

Event Coordination:
Develop event materials for Development and Engagement activities.
Organize key fundraising and stewardship events.
Serve as a primary contact for event attendees before and during events.
Assist in managing the event/project management systems for the department.
Participate in fundraising and engagement events as required.
Handle incoming phone calls and emails professionally.
Update contact information for constituents in the development database.
Provide administrative support to the Director of Development and Engagement as needed (calendar management, projects, correspondence).
Coordinate travel arrangements (flights, accommodations, visas, etc.) and create detailed itineraries for overseas fundraising trips.
Demonstrate experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications:
  • Exceptional command of the English language (spelling, grammar, and punctuation), with a keen attention to detail.
  • A flexible and collaborative team player, willing to take on various tasks as needed.
Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm, with a 60-minute unpaid lunch break (37. Attendance at some evening and weekend events will be necessary, for which time off in lieu will be provided.

23 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays, increasing to 28 days plus bank holidays after two years of service (of which three days must be taken between Christmas and New Year when the College is closed).
