Position Overview

A rewarding part-time opportunity (80%) has emerged for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to become a vital member of the Trust's International Patient Revenue Team.

This role is essential in assisting the Trust with its responsibilities regarding Overseas Visitors and Private Patients. It encompasses adherence to the Overseas Visitor NHS Hospital Charging Regulations, relevant legislation, and Trust policies.

Key Responsibilities

Overseas Visitors: The successful candidate will utilize various information sources to conduct remote investigations and will be required to engage with Overseas Visitors and/or their representatives, including face-to-face interactions. By collaborating with internal colleagues and external organizations, the post holder will determine a patient's financial responsibility for charges, ensuring a fair, equitable, and consistent approach. The post holder will communicate any financial obligations to the Trust's finance department by issuing income due notifications. In cases where deposits or advance payments are received, the post holder will meticulously document financial transactions in accordance with Trust policies. Additionally, the post holder will ascertain an Overseas Visitor's eligibility for treatment and provide guidance to clinicians accordingly.

Private Patients: The role involves managing the private patient process, coordinating with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with legislation and policy, thereby minimizing the risk of income loss. By liaising with private medical insurers, the post holder will secure necessary authorizations and pricing agreements prior to the provision of services by the Trust. Accurate recording of financial transactions in line with Trust policies will also be a key responsibility.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential:

  • A Level education with 2 or more passes at grade C (or equivalent experience)
  • Customer service qualification
  • NVQ level 4 qualification (or equivalent experience)

Desirable:

  • NHS OSV Training ambassador

Knowledge and Experience

Essential:

  • In-depth understanding of the Overseas Visitors Charging Regulations 2015
  • Experience working within a small team
  • Experience collaborating with a variety of stakeholders
  • Proficient in data entry across multiple electronic systems

Desirable:

  • Experience in the private healthcare or insurance sectors
  • Familiarity with Visa Regulations
  • Knowledge of PHIN reporting requirements
  • Experience in the NHS or similar large, complex organizations
  • Awareness of current NHS agendas and challenges
