**About the role**

We are looking for a full-time Income Officer to join our busy Income Team, to work Monday to Friday.

You will provide an excellent customer-focused service in respect of income collection, including both rent and service charges. This will include advising and supporting customers with paying their rent and sustaining their tenancies by taking preventative action to avoid arrears. You will manage income collection for rented general needs, independent living, shared ownership, and leasehold properties.

You will also be responsible for managing rent arrears cases through regular monitoring and taking arrears action in line with our internal policy and procedure. This will include dealing with customer queries, sending arrears letters, serving legal notices, and taking legal action which will involve attending court hearings.

To be successful you will have sound knowledge and experience of income recovery, debt collection and debt counselling along with knowledge of welfare benefits.

The ability to communicate with a range of customers is essential, bringing diplomacy, sensitivity, and tact to handling difficult situations. You will also be able to manage conflicting priorities and a busy workload to a high standard. A full driving licence with use of a vehicle is essential.

A DBS check will be required for the successful applicant as part of our pre-employment checks.
