An exceptional opportunity has arisen to join a tight knit and dedicated team as a Community Funding Officer where you will play a key role in transforming communities and spaces within West Oxfordshire, working to support a variety of exciting community projects that will have a positive local impact.
This permanent part time role offers flexible working from home, out in the community and at our West Oxfordshire (Witney) office, or at one of our offices across Gloucestershire (Cirencester/Coleford), allowing you that extra freedom and work life balance.

West Oxfordshire District Council is taking a fresh look at how it provides funding to community groups in the District and is seeking a dedicated Community Funding Officer to help us implement this.
You will take ownership of this new approach within West Oxfordshire, which includes overseeing the launch and running of a new civic crowdfunding platform alongside a new 3 year funding programme, all aligned to the Council's priorities of environment; climate and ecology; and community resilience and wellbeing.
Ultimately, you will be responsible for supporting local people and communities to take action on issues that are important to them. You will have a strong understanding of the Council’s vision and our commitment to use our grant funds to maximise positive impact on our communities and our local environment.
To make this happen you will:
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, to support and provide practical solutions to help them achieve goals collectively.
- Be the ‘focal point’ of contact to deliver events that promote understanding of the new community funding programmes.
**You will need**
- A minimum qualification equivalent to NVQ level 3 or A level, and/or three years relevant experience
- GCSE Maths and English or equivalent to grade C/4 or higher
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and external networks and work with others to achieve shared outcomes
- Ability to remain calm and confident when dealing with challenging customers and situations
