Job summary

To provide overarching support and guidance to the RMC department throughout the establishment and maintenance of the Global rostering system.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job description

Line management of both AO grade non uniform civil servants (NUCS) and police staff.Staff welfare, management of training days, annual leave, and sickness.Recruit new staff, arranging for all necessary of equipment and clearances.Training of new department staff, providing necessary support guidance.Organisation of team meetings and producing minutes including action plans for further team/force development.General oversight of all roster maintenance, interrogating data, ensuring accuracy and production of timely results by the department. This will include grade/rank, shift patterns, contracted hours, and overtime management.Communicate, work closely with MDP Chronicle to ensure accuracy of data feed pertaining to skills, qualifications are received by GRS.Review and actioning of TTCG, providing data on deployable staff. Advising on solutions for cover with cost efficiency in mind.Liaise with MDP team to review policies and implement changes required to address current operating standards.Lead and guide the department to promote and secure the use of GRS as the primary rostering system used by the MDP.Review administrative processes to ensure maximum efficiency.Review software platform for rostering software and liaise with suppliers to establish customised quotes and time frames for development and delivery to live system. Take the lead on the delivery of new products and processes.Represent the department and its policies and procedures providing structural guidance at meetings with staff of all ranks/grades.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working.� This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. The post does not offer relocation expenses.

External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
