Arriva Rail London we are looking for a Customer Experience Roster Clerk to join our team. This is an opportunity for the right person to come and join a great team within Arriva Rail London. This role is important to the successful operation of trains on the London Overground network. You will be an integral part of the delivery of over 1,500 passenger trains a day. Come and help us provide Londoners with the excellent service that they deserve.

The purpose of the Customer Experience Roster Clerk is to ensure the appropriate level of Customer Service staff resource is available on a daily basis through robust rostering, liaising with relevant parties as required and booking agency staff and taxis to support this aim. In this role you will also ensure that accurate records for Payroll are kept for all transactions.

Accountable for ensuring optimum service performance through resource utilisation, rest days worked, overtime utilised, training delivery and variances from the base plan.

Prepare robust rosters that ensure all staff are compliant and adhere to the relevant terms and conditions and Hidden agreements.

Work within agreed budget expenditure.

Monitor the correct provision of staff to meet service requirements.

Forward planning to ensure efficient working, liaising as appropriate with relevant staff.

Check and implement staff changes in accordance with short term planning and emergency requirements eg events.

Ensure release of staff to undergo required training, medicals and meetings as authorized by the relevant manager.

Reporting of management information as directed.

Book agency staff to fill roster gaps and manage agency staff bookings for “roster area”.

Book transport to and from work for frontline customer service staff as required by company “Transport for Work Policy”.

Process information for Payroll in a timely and accurate manner ensuring that pay is accurate to hours worked.

Provide support for Resource Control Team when required.

Any other duties commensurate with the grade and post and as required.

Provide cross-cover for Roster Clerks utilised for other depots/routes within the company.
- Preferably have a background in a railway environment or a background in an operational customer service role.

Knowledge of staff, terms and conditions of service.

Good knowledge of office software including word, excel, Irma / IVU, other software as required.

Knowledge of rostering principles.

Good communication skills - written and oral.

Proactive problem solver, customer focussed individual with good organisation skills.

Able to work on own initiative, with the ability to prioritise own workload.
