We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Remembrance Events for an 18-month fixed term contract to lead our esteemed Remembrance Events team. Reporting directly to the Director of Remembrance, you will be responsible for leading a team of event professionals to deliver the nation's most longstanding Remembrance events. As well as ensuring that the Festival of Remembrance and Veteran March Past the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday continue to evolve in line with our Remembrance for All approach you'll lead the delivery of high profile one-off commemorative events.

Your role will involve building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including veteran associations ensuring their insights are considered in developing new ways of working. As the Head of Remembrance Events, you will collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to embed Remembrance for All into all channels, supporting the broader RBL ambitions. You will be part of the Remembrance Senior Leadership Team (SLT), setting the standards for our remembrance activities and ensuring effective collaboration with colleagues, membership and other stakeholders.

You will be responsible for bringing the Remembrance Strategy to life through programming, developing, and delivering high-profile national events. TIn your role, you will contribute to the ongoing development of the Royal British Legion's Remembrance strategy and plans, engaging key stakeholders to ensure a trusted and transparent relationship. You will lead on relationship development and liaison with key stakeholders, ensuring that Remembrance objectives are central to negotiations and event development. You will also create opportunities for engagement and long-term relationship development that supports the Royal British Legions strategic delivery, ensuring data-driven, targeted audience growth based on research and insight.

Operationally, you will lead the planning and delivery of events that support the development of relationships with priority audiences, including youth, diverse, armed forces, and heartland communities. You will provide direction and line management to the Director of Music, ensuring events have suitable musical accompaniment. You will ensure each event is delivered using excellent project management practices, negotiate with partners and contractors to ensure alignment with the Royal British Legion's objectives and best value for the charity. You will develop a process of review and continuous improvement. This role requires strong financial management, control planning, and operational budgeting to ensure cost-effective delivery of activities while meeting key KPIs.

You will be contracted to our London Hub, Haig House. Under our Future Working framework, there will be some flexibility for working remotely/at home, using our collaboration tools to work with colleagues, but with a minimum expectation of two days/week connecting directly face-to-face with colleagues at the hub.
