About the Housing Support Worker
role:
As a
Housing Support Worker,you will support and enable vulnerable people to sustain a tenancy living within the community through providing practical and emotional support to encourage tenants to take an active part in the community.
What we're looking for in our Housing Support Worker:
- Do you have experience of offering one to one support around housing matters?
- Do you enjoy communicating with customers from diverse background with a range of different abilities?
- Do you have an understanding of customer service in a service delivery setting?
- Are you able to work flexibly to meet customer needs and service requirements which includes working evenings and weekends as and when the service requires it?
- Do you have an approachable manner and the resilience to cope with a busy, challenging, and emotive job?
- Do you have experience of providing support to the designated client group either in a volunteering or professional role?
What you can expect to be doing as our Housing Support Worker:
- Promoting the integration of the tenant into the local community and provide opportunities by which they will be enabled to develop skills and have access to the widest possible range of experiences
- Ensuring that the tenants needs are met by liaising with other organisations providing access to community-based services and resources
- Involving the tenant in everyday household tasks where possible, and help to develop the skills needed to achieve this. Tasks include gardening, shopping, cleaning, cooking and all other normal day to day tasks
- Taking an active part in tenant involvement, liaising with relevant groups and participating in relevant training and updates
