Over the past months, we’ve invested heavily into work to reduce our impact on rivers and since March when we launched Get River Positive – our five key commitments to improve the health of rivers in our region we are making great progress, but there is always more to do. As part of this, our industry leading Bathing Rivers programme, a key component of our £m Green Recovery investment, which will run until the end of March and aims to move two stretches of river in Shropshire and Warwickshire towards bathing quality. We’ve also delivered projects to support the Water Industry National Environment Programme (WINEP), with a number of these feeding into the great work already undertaken by Green Recovery and Get River Positive.

We’re now looking for an experienced  Comms and Engagement Manager to join our team, to help lead stakeholder communication and engagement across all our rivers work. This position is offered on an initial -month fixed term contract.

Reporting to our Environmental Communications Business Lead, the role will be responsible for managing the stakeholder engagement and overall comms programme the Green Recovery Bathing Rivers programmes, including aspects of our Get River Positive programme and WINEP.

In this role, you’ll be managing strategic communications and engagement, customer campaigns, design, and delivery of collateral and stakeholder interfaces between Severn Trent, our contractors, and external stakeholders.

Some of your other key accountabilities will include:

Own and lead delivery of the comms and engagement plan for selected Green Recovery programmes across the business Be the comms go-to person for Green Recovery Bathing Rivers and and lead on supporting and advising teams with communications and engagement As required, support with engagement activities across the wider £ million Green Recovery Programme and Get River Positive Work closely with the broader comms teams to ensure consistency of message for rivers in all communications Protect and enhance Severn Trent’s reputation at all times Ensuring a single brand strategy throughout all our communication channels

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

You’ll join the team with experience in communications, stakeholder management and managing both stakeholder and customer communication channels.

It’s expected that you’ll have strong influencing and customer management skills, as well as a customer-centric way of thinking and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment. To be successful, you’ll need to possess excellent verbal, visual and written communication skills.

The role will be based in Coventry at our Head Office, with the expectation of frequent time spent out and about across our patch. Due to this, it’s essential that you hold a full Driving License.
