Insurance Account Specialist

Job Description:
About the RoleLycetts Insurance Brokers, a part of the Benefact Group, seeks an experienced Account Handler to join their Charlbury office. As a leading independent insurance broker, they cater to farms, estates, and rural businesses, offering bespoke financial services and risk management advice.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining strong relationships with existing clients while driving business growth through proactive engagement. They will have authority to deal with insurers and clients as required to transact business.
Key Responsibilities- Renewal Management: Prepare renewal schedules and proactively reach out to clients before renewal dates, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
- New Business Acquisition: Handle incoming new business inquiries promptly and prepare customized quotations for potential clients.
- Negotiation and Quoting: Use negotiation skills to explore alternative quotes and find the best solutions for clients well in advance of renewal deadlines.
- Document Management: Manage all documentation, including invoices, credit notes, and other paperwork, ensuring a seamless renewal experience for our clients.
- Cross-Selling Opportunities: Identify cross-selling opportunities within our client base and collaborate with colleagues to maximize revenue.
- Claims Support: Work alongside our dedicated Claims Handler to provide efficient claims handling support when needed.
- Client Relationships: Prioritize client requests and strive for satisfactory outcomes, building strong relationships with our valued clients.
- Compliance and Governance: Adhere to compliance procedures, FCA guidelines, and maintain organized file management.
- Insurer Relationships: Foster positive relationships with insurance companies, ensuring smooth communication and efficient service delivery.
- Credit Control:
- Operate an effective credit control system and report as required.
- Organizational Ability: Good organizational ability
- Broking Experience: Previous broking experience preferably specialising in farm & estate, household and liability insurance
- Knowledge of Commercial Insurance Products: Knowledge of wide range of commercial insurance products and companies
- Communication Skills: Confident communications skills – both written & oral
- Negotiation Skills: Good negotiating skills and the ability to build good relationships with both clients and insurers/underwriters
- FCA Requirements: Sound knowledge of FCA requirements within a broking role
- Hybrid Working: Hybrid working available upon successful completion of probation
- Pension Contribution: Employer pension contribution of 5% rising to 10% after 5 years membership of the pension scheme
- Annual Bonus Scheme: Annual Bonus scheme (Discretionary based on individual and company performance)
- Life Assurance Cover: Life Assurance cover up to 4 x salary
- Annual Leave: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (rising to 26 and 27 for 5 and 10 years' service respectively)
- Working Hours: 35 hours/week, 9.00 to 5.00

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum, dependent on experience. An estimated salary range is provided based on national averages and industry benchmarks.
