Job Summary

The Senior Practitioner - Mental Capacity Act Lead will be responsible for coordinating, designing, and delivering Mental Capacity Act and DoLS training for the Adult Social Care workforce. This role requires advanced practice expertise and guidance to ensure compliance with statutory duties and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and design Mental Capacity Act and DoLS training for the Adult Social Care workforce
  • Provide advanced practice expertise and guidance to ensure compliance with statutory duties and responsibilities
  • Identify, design, and deliver Mental Capacity Act and DoLS training and commission additional learning and development opportunities as needed
  • Work in close partnership with individual practitioners, Adult Care operational teams, training providers, and partner agencies to plan, deliver, and evaluate learning and development activities
  • Manage the quality assurance of MCA/DoLS related practice and training and participate in organisational Quality Assurance frameworks
  • Assist the Team Manager in identifying, developing, and commissioning learning and development opportunities for the operational adult care workforce
  • Work one day per week within the DoLS Service
  • Support and enable staff to work from a trauma-informed approach, with a strong equalities focus, championing strengths-based practice and ensuring decision-making is evidence-based
  • Foster a culture of reflection and learning and design and maintain effective learning solutions, including digital and blended learning activities
