The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing, managing, and enhancing the clinical support team services and the Senior Nurse Practitioners at the Bristol location.
Collaboration with the organization is essential to fulfill donor requirements by ensuring the provision of safe blood products and contributing to the broader development and strategic objectives of the Clinical Support team.
The individual in this role will lead a team dedicated to delivering outstanding post-donation product management and providing expert guidance to NHS Blood and Transplant departments and external entities.
This role allows for a national perspective, granting the successful candidate the autonomy to lead significant initiatives while engaging with both internal and external stakeholders, utilizing clinical expertise, and prioritizing patient care and continuous improvement in all endeavors.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be accountable for leading, managing, and developing the clinical support team services and the Senior Nurse Practitioners at the Bristol site. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Serving as a subject matter clinical expert with clear visibility in Blood Supply, offering independent expert advice and support regarding Clinical Support Team processes.
- Establishing and nurturing professional relationships with other Lead Senior Nurse Practitioners to ensure service consistency, providing support, leadership, and maintaining open communication with national Clinical Support Team colleagues.
- Leading and making informed decisions to ensure that donors and recipients receive safe, high-quality, and effective care.
- Managing a team that excels in post-donation product management and offers expert advice to NHS Blood and Transplant departments and external organizations.
- Collaborating with the organization to meet donor needs and supporting the delivery of safe blood products while contributing to the strategic direction of the Clinical Support team.
- Exercising a high degree of autonomy, demonstrating critical thinking and advanced clinical decision-making skills at a senior level.

Experience and Expertise
- Proven experience in planning and delivering educational programs within a clinical setting.
- Demonstrated success in enhancing service delivery through the implementation and evaluation of clinical practice changes.
- Experience in project management or leadership roles.
- Extensive management and leadership experience in a clinical environment.
- Significant experience in educating or training others.
- Experience in budget management or collaboration with financial resources.
- Proven track record in setting, monitoring, and evaluating care standards.
- Experience in initiating and supporting the professional development of others, including mentorship, coaching, and presentations while pursuing personal development.
- Knowledge of clinical effectiveness principles and best practices.
- Familiarity with donor and patient safety initiatives, strategies, and associated risks.
- Understanding of clinical audit principles, research, and current developments within the broader NHS, including benchmarking.
Qualifications and Training
- Registered Nurse with current Nursing and Midwifery Council registration as an Adult Nurse level 1 or 2 or Children's Nurse level 1.
- Management qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
- Educated to a Master's level, evidenced by academic qualifications or extensive equivalent management and leadership experience at a senior level, with a willingness to pursue formal qualifications.
