Job Summary
Nantwich Health Centre is seeking a skilled and organized individual to fill the role of Medical Receptionist. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our team.
Main Responsibilities
Welcoming and interacting with patients in a friendly and professional manner.
Answering phone calls and booking appointments using the EMIS system.
Handling patient inquiries and requests over the phone and at the front desk.
Liaising with GPs and clinicians in an organized and efficient manner.
Liaising with external services, such as hospitals, care homes, pharmacies, and community services.
Maintaining and updating computerized medical records with attention to detail.
Maintaining patient and practice confidentiality.
Requirements
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
Minimum 2 years of customer service, reception, or administration experience.
NHS experience is desirable.
All relevant training will be provided following appointment.
About Us
Nantwich Health Centre is a family-friendly practice with a team of 8 GPs, 2 Practice Nurses, 1 GP Assistant, and 1 Health Care Assistant.
We require someone with a solid work ethic, adaptability, and a willingness to go the extra mile.
The days and hours required will be discussed at interview. We consider applications for both full and part-time hours.
Key Accountabilities
Working closely with the practice team to provide efficient and effective reception, administrative, and secretarial support.
Liaising directly with patients and visitors to ensure they are routed to the most appropriate service.
Processing prescription requests and advising patients on relevant charges.
Explaining practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients.
Monitoring the flow of patients into consulting and treatment rooms.
Ensuring the reception and waiting areas are kept neat and tidy.
Securing premises at the end of the day in line with practice protocols.
Ensuring accurate and precise coding on computer records.
Scanning daily post and attaching it to patient medical records.
Performing other duties necessary for the efficient running of the practice.
Maintaining up-to-date skills and knowledge and an awareness of patient-led service issues.
Liaising with colleagues to ensure adequate service provision and providing relief cover as needed.
Taking accountability for safeguarding the confidentiality of all information.
Taking ownership of personal training and development.
