**Key responsibilities Training and Clinical Support**: With appropriate training and in accordance with agreed procedures and protocols undertake the following: - Venepuncture Dressings New Patient Checks Health Promotion activities + lifestyle advice Support for nurse led chronic disease clinics (template and data entry Diabetic foot checks Blood Pressure Recording Collection of specimens as directed Urinalysis Patient height and weight measurement (for preliminaries prior to medicals i.e. DVLAs etc) Assistance with minor surgery ECG application and recording Fit and remove 24 ABPM machine Assistance with coil/IUD insertion Flu vaccinations Key responsibilities Administrative Support: Receiving and transmitting messages Form filling Liaise with other health care professionals Maintain accurate patient records and assist with the collection of patient health data Filing and record keeping as necessary Ordering of supplies as necessary in participation with the GP and nursing staff, ensuring that expiry dates are checked on a monthly basis Tidying and stocking up of GPs rooms Key responsibilities Team member: Act always in a way to protect the confidentiality of patients and maintain the integrity of the patient/health carer relationship Demonstrate at all times excellent communication skills Work effectively as a member of the team Maintain and adhere to Health & Safety principles at all times by maintaining a safe and clean environment within your work area Always be aware of own limitations and do not carry out any task or procedure that is beyond the Health Care Support Worker scope of competence Attend courses as required to update to maintain safe standards of practice Maintain your personal development profile Act as a support and share good practice with other health care assistants Research: To assist in research projects initiated by the GPs General: These are the main tasks to be undertaken within this post; however the role is an evolving one and may be liable to change in the future. This will only occur after consultation with all stakeholders.
