Operational Work Area Leadership Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Operational Work Area Manager to join our team at the Bristol Mail Centre. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing and supporting a large team to maximise performance and achieve business targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading a dedicated team of 20+ full and part-time employees, you will hold regular one-to-one and team meetings to review performance and plans.
  • Line management responsibility for team's sick absence, attendance, and training, with a focus on engaging and motivating team members to work to high standards.
  • Health and safety initiatives, increasing efficiency, and identifying areas of improvement will be essential to your role.
  • Supporting the Shift Manager, you will provide a high quality of service to our customers and ensure all operational targets are met.

Requirements:

  • Managing and supporting a large team to maximise performance (essential)
  • People skills, good communication skills, able to engage and motivate team members to work to high standards.
  • Target focused with a track record of improving performance and achieving KPIs.
  • Experience of introducing change/improvements and successfully leading people through change.
  • Data analysis and problem solving – ability to use data to identify trends in performance and then develop solutions/make improvements.
  • Relationships, able to build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders to achieve business benefits.
