Position Overview

Role Summary:

Our esteemed client, a leader in the global market, is seeking to appoint a SAP/ERP Solution Architect Specialist.

The SAP/ERP Solution Architect Specialist will take charge of the effective, reliable, and consistent deployment of SAP/ERP solutions that align with the requirements of business stakeholders.

This role involves overseeing the solution architecture lifecycle, collaborating closely with Business, Enterprise, and Business architecture, as well as product management and analysis during the initial phases of the project.

Engagement in efforts to standardize the Solution Architecture deliverables is essential, along with an active role in the Innovation & Technology Solution Design Review to offer design insights, timely value-adding assessments, and governance focused on progress (ensuring that tactical technical debt is acknowledged and addressed in any business case).

Participation in defining the principles, policies, standards, and patterns of solution and enterprise architecture is crucial. The architect must ensure that the technology solutions developed adhere to the established standards and patterns or that exceptions are justified for replacement when risk tolerance permits.

As an advocate for Innovation & Technology, the architect will engage with business partners to comprehend their requirements and articulate solution designs that fulfill those needs while conforming to the Enterprise Architecture.

Collaboration with colleagues to maintain architectural perspectives for enterprise planning and exploration is also a key responsibility.

Translating Enterprise Architecture outputs, such as Architecture Vision and Business Requirements, into comprehensive High-Level and Low-Level solution designs is expected.

Managing multiple projects simultaneously, the architect will take ownership and ensure the successful delivery of individual solution architecture initiatives.

Prioritizing tasks and deliverables by producing outputs at the appropriate level and timing is essential.

Working alongside selected partners during the design and execution of business technology solutions is also part of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

The following responsibilities highlight the key accountabilities for this position, which will be shared across the team, including permanent, contract, and outsourced roles:

  • Lead the delivery of SAP/ERP architecture for multiple concurrent business initiatives.
  • Contribute to the standardization of the solution architecture capability, including documentation, principles, policies, standards, and methodologies.
  • Demonstrate the ability to operate within an agile environment, involving iterative architectural changes.
  • Make informed decisions regarding the architectural patterns best suited for various projects.
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders and other organizational functions to ensure architecture reuse and adherence to best practices.
  • Guide and support fellow architects through periods of significant transformation.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively within the team and with stakeholders.
  • Document and secure agreement with stakeholders on decisions, including buy vs. build considerations and early-phase project estimates that contribute to business cases.
  • Escalate architectural design challenges to stakeholders regarding potential alternative solutions.
  • Innovate by identifying technology opportunities to address business challenges and initiate proof of concept activities to assess fit.
  • Stay informed about best practices and emerging opportunities that can positively influence the business, such as advancements in AI.
  • Identify and cultivate partnerships and collaborative opportunities within the organization, with suppliers, stakeholders, and both private and public sector entities to enhance the Solution Architecture and maximize value delivery.

Essential Skills Required:

  • Expertise in Solutions Architecture
  • Experience in SAP/ERP delivery (preferably BYD or S/4HANA)
  • Proven track record in Transformation Delivery
  • Proficiency in High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD)
  • Experience in delivering Systems Architecture Solutions
