Position Overview - Customer Service and Weighbridge Specialist

Location: Dumfries, Scotland

Compensation: £22,000-£23,000 per annum

Work Schedule: 37 hours per week

Job Summary:

This is a unique opportunity to engage in a dual role as a Customer Service and Weighbridge Specialist. This position combines the responsibilities of customer support and weighbridge operations. Reporting to the Order Processing Supervisor and Site Manager, you will be the primary contact for all Waste Services customers, overseeing and coordinating waste movements on and off-site. Your role will involve acting as a representative of the organization, ensuring the precise recording of waste materials' weight and classification in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service Duties:

Warmly greet both new and existing customers through various communication channels. Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers. Effectively manage a high volume of inquiries, including emails, calls, and orders. Address and resolve customer complaints proactively. Handle invoice inquiries with skill and attention to detail. Accurately enter, record, and schedule orders/services in specialized IT systems. Promote the company's services enthusiastically and support the sales team. Represent the NWH Group with professionalism.

Weighbridge Operations Duties:

Precisely record weights and waste types for incoming and outgoing vehicles. Ensure the weighbridge office and surrounding areas are clean, organized, and safe. Comply with licensing guidelines and environmental regulations. Assist with general administrative tasks and customer service as needed. Collaborate with transport, sales, and workshop teams as required. Promote a culture of safety at all times. Ensure all site visitors are properly signed in and out. Ensure compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements for visitors and customers. Maintain professional and friendly interactions with all customers. Communicate effectively with all NWH employees, including the site manager.

Qualifications and Skills Required

Team-oriented with a helpful and positive attitude. Self-motivated and proactive. Strong attention to detail. Flexible and adaptable in approach to work. Experience in a fast-paced environment. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels. Knowledge of recycling processes and materials. Proficient in basic Microsoft Office applications. Excellent organizational skills. Previous customer service training is a plus.
