Position Overview - Customer Service and Weighbridge Specialist

Location: Dumfries, Scotland

Salary: £22,000-£23,000 per annum

Working Hours: 37 hours per week

Job Summary:

This unique opportunity combines the responsibilities of Customer Service and Weighbridge Operations. Reporting to the Order Processing Supervisor and Site Manager, you will be the primary contact for all Waste Services clients of the NWH Group, overseeing and coordinating waste movements on and off-site. You will represent the organization, ensuring precise documentation of waste material weights and classifications in accordance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service Duties:

Warmly greet both new and existing clients through various communication channels (email, live chat, phone). Cultivate strong relationships and rapport with clients. Efficiently manage a high volume of emails, calls, and orders. Effectively address and resolve customer complaints. Skillfully handle invoice inquiries. Accurately enter, track, and schedule orders/services using specialized IT systems. Enthusiastically promote the company's offerings and assist the Sales team. Serve as a representative for the NWH Group.

Weighbridge Operations Duties:

Precisely document weights and waste categories by vehicle. Keep the weighbridge office and surrounding areas clean, organized, and safe. Comply with licensing regulations and environmental guidelines. Support general administrative tasks and customer service as needed. Collaborate with transport, sales, and workshop teams as necessary. Foster a culture of safety. Ensure all site visitors are properly signed in and out. Make sure all visitors and clients wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Maintain professional and friendly interactions with clients. Communicate effectively with all NWH personnel (site manager).

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

Team-oriented with a helpful, positive attitude. Self-motivated and proactive. Strong attention to detail. Flexible and adaptable approach to work. Experience in a fast-paced environment. Ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels. Knowledge of materials processing and recycling. Proficient in basic Microsoft Office applications. Excellent organizational skills. Previous customer service training is a plus.
