- Support for mental health and access to trained first aiders
Role Responsibilities
As a Band 6 Assistant Nursing Manager, you will be responsible for supervising a small team and identifying their training and development needs through regular appraisals. You will provide clinical leadership on a shift-by-shift basis and may act as the Shift Coordinator, taking responsibility for decisions made and managing staff during your shift.
Key Duties Include:
- Ensuring effective teamwork principles are upheld throughout each shift.
- Supporting the Lead Nurse and Head of Hospice and Community Services in their roles while promoting the hospice's vision, mission, and values.
- Planning and executing care for children and young individuals with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.
- Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care in collaboration with patients and their families.
- Delivering outstanding short break, palliative, and end-of-life care in a family-centered environment alongside all members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Ensuring compliance with local and national policies during all procedures.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
To be considered for the Band 6 Assistant Nursing Manager position, you must be a qualified RSCN/RN (Child Branch)/RNLD/RGN with a minimum of three years of post-registration experience. Experience working with children and/or young individuals (0-25 years) with complex needs is essential.
While experience in palliative care is desirable, we provide specialist training and development opportunities. Strong communication skills and the ability to demonstrate high standards of clinical care are critical. Additional requirements can be found in the Person Specification.
